A few thoughts on the Oscars fashion. Loving the red frocks, well it is my favourite colour. Asymmetric gowns were popular. Angelina, what was that leg all about love? Maybe she was paid to put it on show. Apparently it has it's own twitter page now! Thought Glenn Close looked pretty darn good. Love - Natalie Portman, Penelope Cruz & Lara Spencer. Like - Gwyneth Paltrow & Michelle Williams. Not fussed on - Angelina 'the leg' Jolie & Jessica Chastain. You gotta love the Oscars for the dresses alone x

A few pics from recent shoot at Parkanaur Manor House located near Dungannon. Big thank you to Marlene for allowing us to use this wonderful venue for the shoot. One of my past brides, the stunning Nicki Gregg, was model on the day. Lorraine from Gladrags Vintage, Dungannon supplied the beautiful vintage dresses and accessories along with Leonora Ferguson, Cookstown who allowed me to use her amazing fascinators & head pieces. Stephen Mallon supplied the bridal bouquet and Chariots Classic Cars from Enniskillen added a real retro glamour touch with their Rover 75 car. Denise from Scissor Sisters, Eglish did a fab job on hair & saved the day when someone else pulled out at the last minute. We had loads of fun and the pics turned out fab. More to follow x

There is nothing more I love than checking out the style from the red carpets so I couldn't wait to see the hits & misses from last night's Golden Globes. Some of the dresses were amazing - loved Heidi Klum's dress, the colours worked so well together and was a more relaxed, flowing style. Emma Stone's dress was so beautiful and as usual, Kate Beckinsale looked stunning. Love the colour of her dress. Misses on the night for me were Laura Linney and Michelle Williams. They just didn't do it for me but paled into insignificance beside Sarah Michelle Gellar's creation. What do you think?

Such a lovely couple. I was really looking forward to the wedding after the pre-wedding shoot at Cavehill. Talk about feeling unfit trying to keep up with Paul running uphill along the pathways - I could hardly manage to walk. Thanks for making me realise how much I need to start back training again. Anyhoo, I wasn't disappointed on their special day - we had a great time and got some fab shots down by the jetty at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen. Victoria's dress was so stunning and the fab bolero jacket finished it off perfectly. The weather was amazing that day too which made such a difference. I hear the fun continued into the wee hours with plenty of dancing and singing. I dread to think what Vicky's dress looked like after rock the boat! Sure it sounded like great craic & the dress can always be cleaned :)

I heart this couple - they were such a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately we had terrible weather on the day which was such a shame but this didn't defer us from venturing out when the rain let up briefly. Ok this time I really mean it - I promise to update the blog more frequently. I've been updating my facebook page regularly so you can catch up on events there if this post isn't totally up-to-date. Gillian & James

I was really excited about shooting this wedding as I had never worked on Benone beach before, on the North Coast. Gillian & James said they would like some shots on the beach and I jumped at the chance! It was an early start travelling up to Coleraine but I didn't mind at all as the scenery is brilliant. Gillian's parent's home was beautiful and was a pleasure to work in. Her mummy has loads of lovely wee finishing touches which really makes the difference between a house and a home.

We travelled to Portstewart for the ceremony & by this stage the wind was starting to pick up. I was still exuding positives vibes that the weather would hold until we got the desired shots on Benone and we weren't disappointed. That's not to say it was all plain sailing - it was blowing a gale by the time we arrived & the dark clouds were looming but the bridal party faced the elements. I have to say it was well worth it - I hope they feel the same :)

The reception was at the Radisson Roe, Limavady which is a lovely hotel. I've done a few weddings there & always feel like checking in after I'm finished. Unfortunately I had to head home and leave the wonderful North Coast behind. I am determined to get back up again before the summer is over to take some landscape shots!

Oh and have to say, this is my favourite bridal bouquet so far this year - love, love, love these peonie roses - they smelt divine!

One of things I love/hate about living in Ireland is our diverse weather. It's a love/hate relationship for the following reasons. 1. It's never boring so I'm kept on my toes, 2. The landscape truly is green & lush due to the vast quantities of rain that we have, 3. When the sun comes out it's simply stunning, 4. It extremely frustating when you have planned all these wonderful ideas for shots and then the wind and rain appear. On Fionnuala & Ryan's wedding day we had a bit of everything! It started out beautiful at the chapel but approximately 5 miles outside Newcastle, the mist decended along with rain & windy conditions. Talk about disappointing - I had been so looking forward to taking shots at Slieve Donard Hotel and on the beach. Still, we braved the elements & managed to get a few shots outside which makes such a difference to the album :)

This lovely couple shared their special day with the Royals no less. Kate & William wouldn't have had a look in though as I have to say Elaine had thought of every little detail. Her fabulous jewellry and head piece was supplied by Helen Fitzpatrick - amazing! Elaine looked stunning in her dress from Perfect Day, Lurgan and Oliver looked pretty dapper too - suits from Tux & Tails, Dungannon. Elaine arrived in style at the chapel in a gorgeous carriage driven by Johnny Fee from Clonmore. After the ceremony we travelled to the Argory for family photos & had the opportunity to get some lovely shots of the couple by themselves. I always try to get the couple on their own for around 15 minutes to capture some more emotional shots of just the two of them. The Glenavon Hotel in Cookstown was the reception venue and Elaine even got interviewed by the press to see what she thought about sharing her big day with the Royals! Not everyone gets to say that :)

We had glorious weather for Melissa & Jason's wedding. The ceremony took place at the Silver Birch hotel in Omagh & we went to the Ulster American Folk Park for the pics afterwards. Whilst I had visited the Folk Park before, this was the first time I had been there for a wedding. It was absolutely brilliant - the staff were so friendly & the bride and groom received some special surpise gifts courtesy of the Folk Park. On our way back to the car we bumped into some very colourful characters who made our experience unforgettable!

I couldn't believe that we actually got a good day for this wonderful couple's wedding. The previous 5 or 6 weddings I worked at had such miserable weather ranging from snow, rain, hail to gale force winds, so I was delighted the sunshine made a welcome return. We started off from Laura's mummy's house before the wedding & all was running smoothly until I set off for the church. What I hadn't factored into my timeline was a security alert & road closures - talk about stress city.com. Fortunately after getting some directions from a kind soul, I did locate the church and the groom! After the ceremony we headed off the beautiful Manor House Hotel at Killadeas http://www.manor-house-hotel.com/ and had loads of fun in the sun. The guests were treated to yummy looking cupcakes which look exceptionally appealing when you have hardly eaten all day. Laura, you were lucky that they survived when I was in the room shooting them. Without a doubt one of the nicest couples I have ever worked with. Claire's dress, in a word stunning & I want her shoes. You will notice a theme appearing in my blog ... shoes and if they have bling on them, all the better. Claire arrived in style at the chapel - car with the roof down if you don't mind. Well sure why not, when you have the weather for it. The ladies football team were waiting for us when the ceremony finished - tried to get them to lift up Rory but he was having none of it hee hee. The reception was in the fabulous Cavan Crystal Hotel - one of the best hotels I been too. Wish you both a long & happy life together x p.s the canapes were yummy, and the champers looked good too lol

I love, love, love working with the wee ones. Charlie was no exception. Their facial expressions are so funny - he loved chewing on his little fingers. Just about managed to snap a few with his big sis Hannah who was too busy playing with her toys for photos. Big thank you to Charlie's mummy Tracey who supplied the home-made chocolate muffins. We were lucky to get a lovely spring day at Drum Manor for our pre-wedding shoot. As with most of the pre-wedding shoots the groom finds it hard to relax at the start but I have to say by the end Jason seemed to have got into the swing of things. They are a really sweet couple & am excited about their wedding as we are going to the Ulster American Folk Park for some of the shots. Can't wait ..

Roisin & Aidan's winter wedding

Panic was starting to set in before this fabulous wedding as I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make due to the weather conditions. Still it would have meant some classic shots - of course the thaw set in so the snow melted on the big day :( However the thaw didn't make it to the roads and let's just say I had a very close call on the Gortin Road outside Pomeroy. Ended up doing a 180 turn and practially in the ditch. Legs were shaking for the rest of journey, drove at 5 miles an hour across the top of a mountain in fog with the roads like an ice rink. Scary stuff. Was never so glad to arrive in civilisation!! Roisin looked amazing in her dress and Aidan looked pretty dapper too. After the ceremony the guests moved to the barn beside the family home for refreshments - the barn was decorated beautifully and some local musicians provided the music for some ceili dancing by the bride & groom! Was a hoot. Was a great day's fun and I wish this lovely couple every happiness for their future together

I was really looking forward to shooting this wedding as we had such good fun at the pre-wedding shoot with young Joel, Michael's wee boy. He was a great wee character and he didn't fail to please on their big day either. I hadn't been to Dungiven before and didn't realise how high up it is. Felt like I was taking off heading up the Glenshane hee hee. Whilst the weather wasn't good to us, it didn't stop me getting some gorge pics of this lovely couple. Erin is so thoughful and even had a little gift for me which went down a treat. When the couple turned up at the reception in a different car I was somewhat confused - turns out the other car had broken down and they had to get a replacement. Fab replacement it was though and we got cool shots. You see, something good can come from the bad ...

Big thank you to all the lovely people I met at the wedding fayre on Sunday. Really appreciated all your kind words regarding my work and my albums. Fenella & Breandan - the wedding

We had a beautiful sunny day for Fenella & Breandan's wedding which always makes such a difference. After the ceremony we took family shots at Fenella's parent's house - the garden was amazing. Grainne & Paul

I travelled to Crumlin for Grainne & Paul's pre-wedding shoot. It was soooo cold but once we got started we didn't really notice. Grainne & Paul wanted to do their pre-wedding shoot now so that they could use the image for their 'Save the date' cards. Cool idea! Grainne has amazing skin and was a joy to photograph. I'm really looking forward to their wedding next year - it is sure to be a great one

We had some days craic at this wedding. Sharilene was so excited before the wedding and came down the stairs to the sounds of the Galway Girl at full blast. This truly was a fairytale wedding. Emear looking like a princess in her beautiful dress and Ciaran was looking pretty dapper himself. However the only thing we couldn't control was the weather. Rained all day :( Such a shame as I was really looking forward to getting some outside shots at the Lough Erne Resort in Fermanagh http://www.lougherneresort.com/. We made the most of it and I was delighted with the shots we did get in the entrance to the hotel.

Had a brill time shooting Clare & Kevin's wedding. Clare was so relaxed before the wedding & wanted me to capture a few shots with her beloved doggies:) Kevin was also so relaxed that he arrived after me at the chapel!! After the ceremony we travelled to Killymoon Castle in Cookstown and then on to the Glenavon Hotel http://www.glenavonhotel.co.uk/. Clare's Halloween themed reception was so beautiful - the room looked amazing, so warm and welcoming.

Most of the men I know do not like posing for photos and I have to say Breandan was no exception. It is hard to relax at the start but once they get started it isn't so bad. This is why I find it useful to do a pre-wedding shoot with couples as I find that it's not such a shock to the system on the big day. We went to Peatlands Park for Fenella & Breandan's pre-wedding shoot and it turned out to be a beautiful autumn day. Will definitely be back there again

I had great fun shooting Philip & Cherith's wedding. From scooters to hockey sticks to ice cream, I certainly wasn't short of things to capture. Cherith looked absolutely stunning - her dress was beautiful and I loved her gorgeous hair comb. The location for the reception, Corick House, was amazing. They were a great couple to work with and were up for having fun which always makes my job so much easier.

We've been on holidays in Portugal - had a really lovely time in Albuferia and Lagos. Ailis loved the pool and I had trouble getting her out of it every day. Would def go back to Portugal as we found everyone really friendly.

Had a rather busy day on Sunday as it was my daughter's 9th birthday. Up from 6.45am trying to get her new bike out from under the stairs without her hearing me making a racket! She was delighted with her present & wanted to go out for a spin immediately in her pjs. Never stopped all day but managed to snap a few quick picks with her freshly curled hair (took me 1 hour to do...) I know I'm biased but I think she looks gorge :)

I was really looking forward to Joan & Martin's wedding as I couldn't wait to see the marquee they were holding their reception in. I have to say I was not disappointed! It was fantastic and given that it was right next door to Joan's parent's house and the church, it was the handiest wedding I have ever done :) Joan's attention to detail ensured that the end result was amazing. She now has herself to blame for my addiction to elderflower presse! Joan looked stunning on the day - a true classic beauty

My friend Clare tied the know with Tommy back in May this year. Had great fun with their gorgeous wee boy Tomas before the wedding at Clare's parent's house - he was a real wee poser in front of the camera. It was a fabulous day, with glorious sunshine and everything went very smoothly. Once the pics were finished, I was able to slip into my frock & enjoy the rest of the night :)
